Introduction to Responsible Gaming
MGM China recently hosted the second edition of its Responsible Gaming Promotional Project in Macau, demonstrating its ongoing dedication to encouraging safe gambling habits and educating players on responsible gaming. This year’s program emphasized skill development, creativity, and innovative communication methods.
Collaboration Between MGM and City University of Macau
MGM joined forces once again with the City University of Macau to carry out the second phase of their collaborative Responsible Gaming Promotional Project. Building on the strong foundation established during the inaugural event, this version engaged over 30 students studying tourism, management, hospitality, and social work.
Educational Modules
The project incorporated new educational modules focused on Macau’s gaming history, common misconceptions about the industry, sustainable gambling practices, and understanding gambling-related harm. After their training sessions, student ambassadors put their newly acquired knowledge into practice by organizing various community activities.
Focus Areas of the Second Edition
This latest edition centered on two key initiatives: the Responsible Gaming Campus Ambassador Program and the Healthy Financial Management Promotional Design Competition. The ambassador program aimed at nurturing talent through hands-on involvement, while the design competition encouraged students to use their creativity and digital media skills to promote safer gaming habits.
Community Engagement
The design competition received wide attention, with participating students’ creative projects showcased online and collectively attracting approximately 110,000 views. The program concluded with a closing ceremony recognizing the efforts of the ambassadors and presenting awards for outstanding competition entries. The event was attended by prominent officials from both MGM and City University.
Contributing to Macau’s Sustainable Growth
Leadership from both institutions expressed enthusiasm about the program’s impact. Ip Kuai Peng, vice rector of City University, praised the combination of theoretical learning with practical experience and the integration of competition and innovation. He expressed hope that the winning projects would continue evolving to positively influence Macau’s sustainable development.
Empowering Students
MGM’s director of responsible gaming, Tina Wong, highlighted how the initiative empowers students to promote sound financial habits within their communities and campuses. She emphasized that Macau’s future sustainability depends on collaboration among government bodies, businesses, educational institutions, and organizations.
Conclusion
The Responsible Gaming Promotional Project is a great example of how collaboration and innovation can be used to promote responsible gaming habits and sustainable development. By empowering students to take an active role in promoting sound financial habits, MGM and City University of Macau are helping to create a brighter future for Macau. The success of this project demonstrates the importance of working together to address social issues and promote positive change.
